I've not had any dealings with it myself, but some family and friends have had it.

Here's a link to a page at the Center for Disease Control that may help:

Hope nobody else gets it, and hope your little feels better soon.

Hugs,

Diane

When Caroline had it last summer our ped told us the biggest danger was dehydration, so I bought lots of popsicles. They worked like a charm.

Garrett had this sometime between year one and two....MISERABLE!! Give him whatever he wants -- anything for the pain!! I think we kept him on continual doses of Tylenol/Motrin. We are big into "preventative medicine". I will pray for him and YOU!!

Oh, so sorry he's sick. Oliver had it right before his first birthday and I ended up getting it, too! I didn't have it in my throat like he did but I had very painful blisters on my hands and feet. I thought it was unusual for an adult to get it but his pediatrician told me she gets a mild case of it every year when it goes around. Hang in there!

Baby M had it a few weeks ago, though VERY mild.

Our pedi told us to alternate Tylenol/Motrin for the pain, and for the mouth make a "paste" of baby Benadryl and Maalox (liquid, I assume) and swab it on any sores she might have in her mouth. We never had to do the paste--he said she only needed that if she was having trouble eating, which she wasn't.

He also suggested bland, easy-to-eat foods if she was having trouble eating.

If I think of anything else, I'll let you know! We'll be praying for Big H (and all of you!). I know that can't be fun.

God bless you all - we did Motrin for the pain and mild/soft food. Popsicles sound like a must. Let me know if we need to run to the store for you!! We'll leave the goods in your front yard :-)
